Why should I study a T Level?

What is a T Level?

Between 2nd and 6th December 2024, we are celebrating National T Levels Week.

T Levels are 2-year qualifications that learners can go straight on to after their GCSEs, they are an alternative to A-Levels and other post-16 courses.

T Levels focus on vocational skills and have been designed, in collaboration with employers and education, to provide the sought after skills and knowledge that employers look for. They support learners to progress into an entry level skilled job, a higher apprenticeship or on to further study, including at university.

Employment experience whilst you learn

Why should I study a T Level?

A unique part of a T Level is that you’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% of your time on a 45-day industry placement. On this placement you will gain valuable experience in the workplace and have the chance to put your new knowledge and skills into practice.

One T Level is the equivalent of 3 A-Levels. You will also gain UCAS points, for example a T Level Distinction* is worth the same as 3 A-levels at A*.
