Welcome Week 2023
North Notts College welcomed both new and returning students with open arms as we kicked off the new academic year in style during Welcome Week. Our highly anticipated event, held from the 4th – 8th of September, featured a wide array of activities and initiatives to help learners settle into college life and prepare for the academic year ahead.
Welcome Week at North Notts College is all about creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for learners, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported as they begin their academic journey. The campus was abuzz with energy and enthusiasm as learners took part in workshops and activities designed to engage, inform and entertain.
Throughout the week, students attended inductions, tours, talks led by top local employers and industry experts, took part in competitions and treasure hunts. The week ended with a colour smash run at Dearne Valley College, where learners from across all three of our sites took part.
Mel Smith, Campus Director at North Notts College, said:
“It has been incredible welcoming so many new and returning students into the college this week. Students are ambitious, excited and keen to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours. We are really pleased that these students have chosen to study with us at North Notts College and can’t wait to see how they progress over the year.”
As Welcome Week ends, the RNN Group is gearing up for an exciting and productive academic year. The wide range of events and activities during this week served not only as a warm welcome to new and returning students, but also as a reminder of the supportive, inclusive and diverse community that they are now a part of. With renewed enthusiasm and a strong sense of belonging, we hope our students are ready to embark on their educational journey at North Notts College.
But it doesn’t end there. As the academic year unfolds, North Notts College will continue to provide learners with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive academically and personally.
