Thank You for Helping Us Build the Future
by Lisa Wilson, Director of Apprenticeships and James Godsell, Director of Employer Partnerships at RNN Group.
National Apprenticeship Week is always an exciting week. It’s a chance for us, and the wider community, to recognise the contribution of apprentices and employers in providing us with a highly skilled workforce for the future.
Given the events of the past 12 months, and the huge upheaval that we have all experienced, it feels pertinent to say a huge thank you to everyone that has supported not only us but the apprenticeship industry as a whole.
Apprenticeships help Build the Future, they are a fantastic way to improve skills, fill skill gaps and produce qualified individuals that make a real difference to our local communities of South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.
As the largest provider of apprenticeship training in our areas we are fortunate to work with over 1,000 employers and around 2,000 apprentices. To each one of you, we’d like to say thank you.
We’d also like to say a big thank you to all of our staff, the people behind the scenes, our tutors and assessors, and all of our support staff who keep things moving seamlessly.
A special thank you goes to the local businesses that contribute towards our Employer Academies, providing opportunities not only for our apprentices but for full-time students at the Colleges too. Also, to the companies that contribute to our employer forums and curriculum planning, ensuring that we teach the knowledge and skills that industry demands. Your contributions are vital and we’d like you to know that we appreciate the time and effort you volunteer.
There are too many people we owe a thank you to mention individually, but a few that we would like to mention specifically are the teams at AESSEAL, South Electrical, Robert Woodhead, C-Learning, Ye Olde Bell, Willmott Dixon and KP Snacks.
Beyond the employers we work with, we’d like to mention the teams at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and Bassetlaw Council, your support is tremendous, so thank you.
We’d also like to give a special thanks to ENGIE and Rotherham United Football Club who committed to our Employer Pledge to provide meaningful opportunities for our students to gain valuable work experience and insight into their future careers, despite the ongoing pandemic.
In what has been a challenging year for everyone, we have continued to see the benefits that collaboration between education and industry can bring. Through our continued partnership we will continue to Build the Future.
Thank you.
Lisa and James
