T Level Students Embark on Forest School Adventure
Early Years and Education recently engaged in a hands-on learning experience at Blyth Tournament Ground. Designed for year one and two T Level students, the trip emphasised building practical skills while fostering teamwork through outdoor activities.
During the outing, students participated in various activities, including building dens, purifying water, and learning fire-making skills. These experiences not only imparted valuable practical knowledge but also cultivated team spirit and confidence, essential elements of the T Level programme.
“The forest school experience not only teaches students valuable practical skills but also helps them develop essential qualities like teamwork, resilience, and a connection to nature. It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to learn outside the classroom and apply their knowledge in a real-world setting” said Leyla Uzsoy, Early Years and Education Tutor.
Blyth Tournament Ground is a unique outdoor activity centre offering various activities for individuals and groups of all ages. In addition to the forest school experience, visitors can enjoy archery, crossbow shooting, axe and knife throwing, air rifle shooting, and more.
By prioritising experiential learning and teamwork, North Notts College is effectively preparing students for success in their future careers. Future trips like this one are also being planned in the coming months, organised tirelessly by Sam Caudwell, Early Years and Education Curriculum Team Leader.
