Learners expanding their horizons working in Cyprus
Learners from across the RNN Group (Rotherham College, North Notts College, Dearne Valley College) expanded their horizons working in Cyprus through the Turing Scheme for 23 Days.
The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s programme that provides funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world.
The scheme is available for our Level 3 learners across all of our curriculum areas. For our trip to Cyprus we had learners from Childcare, Business, Health and Social Care and Media and Photography.
Our childcare learners worked at Odessa Beach Hotel as part of the Animation Team supporting kids in the holiday clubs by providing day and evening entertainment. Whilst our business students worked with the front of house team at the hotel.
Working at a local health centre our health and social care learners carried our supporting roles within physiotherapy and nursing, with the media and photography learner working at Protaras Ocean Aquarium.
Alongside working our learners get the opportunity to experience local cultures, trying different cuisine and exploring the local area. Since the trip to Cyprus, we currently have learners in France and another cohort taking flight at the end of June to work in Italy.
