FLEX Garden Party: Celebrating the End of Spring Term

10 April 2025

To mark the end of term, our FLEX students hosted a garden party on Wednesday, 1 April 2025.

Families, staff, and learners gathered together for afternoon tea while transforming the space for spring.

As the weather warmed up, so did the spirit of community. With all materials and tools provided, the event became a fantastic opportunity for families to bond while enhancing the garden space.

Participants worked together to refresh the garden, planting, watering, and painting planters. Meanwhile, parents had the chance to engage with tutors in a relaxed setting, discussing progress and development.

Adding a personal touch, learners prepared and served homemade snacks and drinks for their parents and guardians. Under the sun, families shared tasty treats, reflected on their collective efforts, and enjoyed each other’s company in the garden they had helped rejuvenate.

Reflecting on the successful day, one parent shared:

“Today’s been really special. Spending time together as a family in the garden and seeing my child’s hard work come to life has been amazing. The garden party was a perfect way to celebrate everything they’ve achieved.”

FLEX thrives on such moments, offering tailored support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or High Needs. Through projects like this one, students develop key life skills and gain real-world experience.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who took part and contributed to the success of the day. We can’t wait to collaborate on more projects like this in the future!
