Early Years and Education Students Volunteer for From The Heart Charity

19 December 2024

Five students from Early Years and Education recently lent a hand to From The Heart Charity (FTHC), a local organisation that supports vulnerable families in Bassetlaw. They helped pack toys for disadvantaged children, contributing to their mission of providing vital resources to families facing socio-economic challenges, especially during the Christmas season.

Founded in 2017, FTHC aims to address poverty and improve the lives of children and young people in the region. As a charity, operations rely entirely on donations, which support a range of services, from food and clothing support to sensory toys and day trips. In the years since being founded, FTHC has assisted over 1,000 families, ensuring they have access to essential items and services to improve their quality of life.

Every Christmas, Early Years and Education students give back to the local community by supporting initiatives like this one. Helping pack toys for FTHC has made a significant impact, ensuring children from struggling families experience the joy of receiving presents during the holiday season. Compassion, community service, and advocacy for young people are core values of the Early Years and Education programme, reinforcing the importance of supporting vulnerable individuals.

From The Heart Charity

Through its holistic approach, FTHC works closely with local organisations, educational providers, and other charities to expand its reach and continue making a difference in the lives of families in need.

People can get involved by donating, volunteering, or supporting their fundraising events. Every little bit helps, and contributions can make a meaningful impact in the lives of those facing hardship.
