Business Students Host ‘Christmas Cake Sale’ To Raise Money for Charity
Business students at North Notts College are embracing the festive season and hosting a ‘Christmas Cake Sale’ on Monday the 13th of December.
With tasty treats such as cupcakes, buns, cookies and much more on offer, the students are on a quest to help the homeless, with all of their proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army’s Christmas appeal.
Speaking about their decision to aid The Salvation Army in their charitable work, the Business students were full of praise for the organisation.
Millie Davies, a Level 1 Business student, said: “We looked into a few different charities, but decided on The Salvation Army. Their work during the holiday season was very inspirational and we wanted to help in any way we could.”
The hosting of the cake sale is a part of the Level 1 Business students’ taught module; Being Organised. Here, the students learn key skills needed in business and working life, where areas such as planning, organisation, time management and communication are all covered in classes.
The students explained that planning the event has helped them understand the organising skills needed in business and how every aspect, from booking a venue to preparing the cakes takes thorough thought and planning.
Our Business courses provide the perfect platform for students to learn about the many different avenues within business, from Marketing and Finance to Entrepreneurship.
When asked about why he chose the course, Level 1 Business student, Brandon Fielding outlined the future work opportunities available to him after College.
He said: “I’m still unsure about what I want to work with in the future, but the Business course keeps my options open and will help me get a job within a field that I like.”
The cake sale will be held at the North Notts College Bistro from 10.30am – 1.30pm. Come hungry!
