Build Your Future – Learn More About Apprenticeships with North Notts College
Young people, career changers and developers, have the opportunity to find out more about the role apprenticeships can play in securing their dream career when North Notts College (part of the RNN Group) host a virtual Apprenticeship Information Event at 4.30pm on Tuesday 11 May 2021.
The college, which delivers apprenticeship training through its RNN Training brand, is the largest single provider of apprenticeship training across an area spanning South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire, and works with over 1,000 employers to train thousands of apprentices each year.
The event, which will be led by the college’s apprenticeship specialists, will shine a spotlight on:
- How potential apprentices can make their application stand out to employers
- How our friendly recruitment team can help identify the ideal vacancy in sectors as varied as construction, engineering, healthcare, HR, and hospitality
- Current vacancies and the companies we’re currently working with
The team will also run through exactly what you can expect as an apprentice including the apprentice minimum wage, your entitlement to paid holidays as well as exactly how the training element of your apprenticeship will work.
RNN Group Director of Employer Partnerships, James Godsell, works closely with employers across the region to place apprentices each year.
James said: “Apprenticeships are a great option to kickstart a career, or a career change.
“It’s well known that apprenticeships are available in the trades, such as bricklaying and plumbing, but what many people might not know is that apprenticeships are available through to Level 6 – or degree level – and are available in such a wide variety of subjects.
“We’ll also go through some of the roles that are perhaps hidden within industries, such as business administration within construction, or customer service apprenticeships in engineering companies.”
James continued: “There is so much choice and variety of apprenticeships, and now, as the country begins to recover from the impact of the pandemic, apprenticeships are a cornerstone of the Government’s ‘Plan for Jobs’.
“Of course, apprentices also earn while they learn, and we know that’s important for many apprentices, so at this event we’ll talk potential apprentices through exactly what they can expect in terms of payment and other benefits such as holidays, and explain the different ways that training can be delivered.”
