This course aims to increase your knowledge and awareness of children and young people’s mental health. You will explore the factors that make an individual more vulnerable to developing mental ill health as well as the factors that can protect your well-being. Perhaps most importantly, you will look at how the care, compassion and vigilance of others can support children and young people to bounce back from setbacks and successfully deal with the challenges they may face during their childhood and teenage years.

You will study a range of topics including:

  • The Factors that May Affect Children and Young People’s Mental Health
  • Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health Concerns
  • The Impact of Children and Young People’s Mental Health Concerns
  • How to Support Children and Young People with Mental Health Concerns

  • Learn from industry-experienced and well-qualified tutors who have spent many years in the Social Care sector and have specialist qualifications and knowledge to bring to their teaching
  • Learn from your own home, in your own time
  • Achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification
  • Access to award winning learning and assessment materials
  • Access to a Learner Support Advisor for everyday queries

To be eligible to undertake our free distance learning courses you must meet the below criteria:

  • Living in the UK and aged 19+
  • If you are aged 19-23 you must hold a full Level 2 qualification and not currently enrolled on an apprenticeship
  • Aged 24 or above – free to everyone
