The Level 1 Award is a City & Guilds qualification which focuses on the basic practical principles for the absolute novice to build confidence and underpinning knowledge. You should be interested in the bricklaying industry and/or developing some home DIY skills. If this is you, then this is the starting point.

- Contribute to setting out and building of masonry structures
- Carrying out block laying activities
- Carrying out bricklaying activities
Enthusiastic staff with a wealth of industry experience, as well as specialist construction workshops.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

On successful completion of the Level 1 Award in Bricklaying course, students can progress onto the relevant Level 2 qualifications or employment.
You may also have the option to transfer to an apprenticeship and then progress on to higher-level courses in construction, such as Level 2 Bricklaying.
Those aged 19 or over may not need to pay fees depending on their circumstances. Find out if you qualify for help with fees.
