Make your summer count with RNN’s summer school for adults

5 July 2024

School’s out for summer. But not at the RNN Group.

Our popular adults’ summer school is back for 2024 with lots of fun, creative and free academic taster sessions for adults of all ages.

Because why should only kids get to have all the fun? Secure your spot on one of our short courses and rediscover your love of learning.

The short courses take place throughout July and August while the college students are on summer break, increasing our offer to 50 weeks of the year rather than just term time.

Top up your skills with lots of hands-on learning in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our campuses are at Rotherham College, North Notts College and Dearne Valley College, with the summer school courses run by our experienced and approachable staff.

Some are just for a couple of hours, while others are a few days long.

Best of all, they’re completely free to all adults over 19 – regardless of your income or current employment status.

Here are just some of the options you can sign up for:

This summer, our Worksop campus is running some short taster sessions that are helpful for adults working in a range of industries. Brush up on your digital skills and learn more about computer programming and creating 3D models. If you work in health and social care, improve your knowledge around mental health awareness and end of life care.

Work in education or looking to become a TA, nurser worker or childminder? Our quick National Curriculum session looks at how everyday play and exploration spark a child’s interest in communication, maths, science, and the world around them.
