Does the thought of reading a job description or helping the kids with their English homework fill you with dread? Does trying to work out your finances leave you in a cold sweat? If that sounds familiar, we have new adult English and Maths courses, ideal for improving your skills, starting this February.
If you’re aged 19 or over, North Notts College has spaces available on its Functional Skills English and Maths courses starting on 22 February 2021.
Unlike GCSEs in these subjects, the focus of these courses is on teaching you how to improve your skills for everyday employment and life. So, if you don’t know your algebra from your elbow or your fronted adverbials from your front door, there’s no need to panic. You’ll receive support from our expert tutors, in classes delivered online and over just two hours per week that are flexible around your commitments.
Developing your English and maths abilities can make a real difference in your life. Whether it’s greater confidence with day-to-day activities like following a recipe or understanding a bank statement, to benefitting your career.
As well as learning core skills that will help in your work and everyday life, there is also an opportunity to undertake a free course focused around helping your child while homeschooling.
If you’re aged 19 or over you can apply for a place, and, if you haven’t already achieved a pass at Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) these courses are completely free. If you’ve already passed a GCSE but want to improve your grade there is a cost of £362 to complete the course.
