Develop valuable technical skills in vehicle diagnosis, maintenance, and repair that cover the latest green technologies. Train in our newly refurbished workshop, where you can gain hands-on experience with the latest tools, equipment, and vehicles.

Equipment

You will learn your trade on a wide range of different cars, including electric, hybrid, petrol and diesel. Alongside our cars, you will also have access to top-of-the range, industry standard equipment, so that you learn with the tools you use in industry.

Upgraded equipment includes:

• Solar panels
• two-post lifts
• One HEV training rig
• Three internal EV charging points,
• Six external EV charging stations.
• One full EV
• One Plug-in HEV
• Two micro HEVs

Health and safety

The Motor Vehicle workshop is a safe and clean environment, where every student and member of staff undertakes continuous health and safety training. This includes a health and safety induction and training before using specialised equipment and tools.

Students are also expected to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes overalls and safety boots.
