Mechanical Engineering Workshops
The Mechanical Engineering workshop at our Worksop campus is our dedicated space for all things Engineering. Here, you will learn from industry-experienced staff, as you develop the key skills needed to become an Engineer, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), Turning, Advanced Engineering, and Milling.
Equipment
The machines, tools and equipment you use in our workshop have been purposely chosen to replicate the Engineering industry, ensuring that the equipment you learn with is the equipment you’ll use in the workplace.
These are tools such as;
- Milling machines
- Computer numerical control (CNC) machines
- Engineering lathes
- Automatic lathes
- Computer aided design (CAD)
- Bansaws
And much more.
Health and Safety
The Mechanical Engineering workshop is a safe and clean environment, where every student and member of staff undertakes continuous health and safety training. This includes a health and safety induction and training before using specialised equipment and tools. Students are also expected to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes coveralls, safety boots and eye protection.
